This book presents experiences and advances in the study and conservation of the manatee in the state of Quintana Roo and the neighboring country, Belize. Authored by specialist Benjamín Morales Vela, the edition also stands as a testament to local knowledge on the subject and is enriched with magnificent images captured by Humberto Bahena Basave and other photographers. The research, citizen participation, and financial efforts showcased in this work represent shared actions in favor of the manatee’s continued presence along the Mayan coast.
