Resumen: "Cohorts of 50 Raoiella indica Hirst eggs, 12 hours old, were hatched on coconut palm (Cocos nucifera L.) at 22.5, 25, 27.5 or 30°C and 40-50% relative humidity, as well as 27.5°C, with 30-40, 60-70 or 80% relative humidity. Observations of the mites were made once a day until the last specimen died to construct life and fecundity tables. Mortality was evenly distributed along the lifespan of this mite. Developmental rate, reproduction and, consequently, parameters of population increase were associated with temperature. The highest intrinsic rate of population increase was found at 27.5°C and 40-50% relative humidity. In contrast, relative humidity did not significantly affect any of the observed variables although extreme values had slightly negative effects. Sex ratio was biased toward females"
