Resumen: "Biological information for most species of the nocturnal sweat bee genus Megalopta Smith is scarce. Although this widely distributed neotropical genus comprises 32 nominal species (Santos and Melo, 2015), most of what is known about its biology comes from numerous studies of only two common species (Megalopta centralis Friese and M. genalis Meade-Waldo) on Barro Colorado Island, Panama (Wcislo et al., 2004"
